The oldest of four siblings, raised by a single mother. I was divorced twice. Despite the odds, I earned a full football scholarship to Northern Illinois University and lettered in two sports as Team Captain.
1997 — THE ACCIDENT
A drunk driver T-boned my vehicle, leaving me lifeless in a ditch. Fractured neck. Traumatic brain injury. No pulse. Two weeks in a coma. The doctors weren't sure I'd survive—let alone walk or talk again.

But I didn't just survive—I rose. My vision to inspire was birthed from years as a case manager, child care worker, and mental health professional ensuring the safety of DCFS wards. Today I speak to corporations, universities, and youth programs across the nation.
